Afternoon Delight
July 22nd, 2010 | Posted by in Beer/WineThe Hubz and I had a busy unplanned afternoon and were in need of a little relaxation and a trip to the wine store and then out for a glass of wine and appetizer. The wine shop downtown is great with a wonderful selection of wines and a very knowledgeable staff. The husband purchased a bottle of wine for our anniversary there (which we have yet to drink) and the staff helped him then to find a vegan bottle. I looked around for a bit for awhile and tried to figure out on my own what was vegan via barnivore but gave up and decided to just ask. I was directed to a wonderful malbec which I will add to my wine collection and try at a later date. (I apologize for the iphone photos)
After purchasing wine we went out for a glass and appetizer at Three Tomatoes on Church Street. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside. We ordered the Antipasto Verdure: grilled artichoke hearts, cippoline onion agrodolce, eggplant caponata, imported olives, fresh mozzarella (argodolce is a sweet and sour sauce). This appetizer was so good and came with warm baguette and olive oil and garlic. We sat and sipped our drinks, wine for me and beer for him, and caught up on the day.
Now it’s home and back to work we both go- yes a 9pm. We will be working tonight but tomorrow night we are going out to a movie now what to see… Inception or Salt?

We saw Inception on Sunday for my birthday and it’s *very* good. It would have been better if I didn’t have to pee for half the darn thing, but that’s really just my own problem.
I love Ellen Page! Salt looks very good though also…
Appetizer sounds yum!
I haven’t seen Inception but there seems to be a huge hype over it.
Definitely see Inception. I am a notorious cheapskate–my husband said we had to see it in Imax and it was worth it. My husband is going to see it again tomorrow.
DEFINITELY see Inception!
that appetizer look awesome. i wish i made more anitpasto plates at home – i always just focus on the big meal.
i’d vote for inception – it’s on my to-see list!
Malbec wine is one of my favorite wines as of late. So smooth and smoky! And you can;t go wrong with a Chilean wine either!
Definitely go see Inception. I cannot wait to see it again.
Inception. most certainly.
love the new look! Where did you get the header? Do you make them yourself?? I really need to figure that out for myself. Hope you had a great day!
Thanks! The header is one of my food photos that my husband used to create the header because he is a talented computer systems analyst …awww the benefits of having a computer savvy husband.
